There is a lot of fishing during the season and quite a lot of people come out to the beaches to fish during the summer vacations. There are a ton of left over objects and things people make and build. All sorts of structures and collections of things.

Within Crockett Lake there are seven wooden fish structures near an old railway pillars. This is number 3 in the series of 6. The last two are small and doubled up in one image.

Using old expired film is fascinating to me. This is the start of the parallel project to “Structures of Impermanence” but using expired film giving the final image a gritty aged look and feel that can't be duplicated by addons, filters or presets.

Made a stop at a local area where these are built the day before and found this new one. Returned the next day with luckily the same grey overcast but sometimes the sun broke through the clouds conditions.

Admiralty Head Lighthouse at Fort Casey wrapped in a thick fog that rolls through every so often. I was lucky enough to have a day on the weekend to capture this image.

On 2nd street in Langley WA there is a small café next to the post office that has this stationary bicycle welded to the fence.

I've wanted to capture this image for some time and on a frosty morning these dried blossoms were half covered in frost. Using a 1915 Wollensak 12" Velostigmat Series II f/4.5 with soft focus set at +2 I'm happy with the results.

There's quite a local beach where these are built and rebuilt and captured this one on a light foggy morning. After having this Bausch & Lomb - Unicum shutter CLA'd it has a Rapid Rectilinear lens on it and I thought I'd give it a go. Even with the large amount of balsam separation on the rear lens (this is where the cement holding the glass together starts to give out) I like the rendering it has. Surprisingly, come to find out, the SEROCO brand is actually the Sears & Roebuck Company. You never know what might do well.

The tree is a common subject for me and this version on expired film from 1945, is pretty amazing in itself that it actually captured an image. The blurriness only comes from the minute long exposure and the cars that drove by which shows in the dark horizontal lines and haziness at the bottom of the image.

At one of my normal haunts, driftwood beach, I was backing out I happened to see this shoe hanging on the rootball of a large tree. Of course I had to stop and break out the camera!
