Using old expired film is fascinating to me. This is the start of the parallel project to “Structures of Impermanence” but using expired film giving the final image a gritty aged look and feel that can't be duplicated by addons, filters or presets.

The tree is a common subject for me and this version on expired film from 1945, is pretty amazing in itself that it actually captured an image. The blurriness only comes from the minute long exposure and the cars that drove by which shows in the dark horizontal lines and haziness at the bottom of the image.

Another capture, it looks almost as if someone has painted the emulsion on by hand.

Even though exposed to capture an image I really like the way the emulsion has created its own abstract.

A favorite tree just down the road + expired film from 1945 and amazingly it worked! At least one of the several frames I exposed.

First shot of the Agfa Super Plenachrome film. Wasn't sure how or even if it would work with it being expired as of Feb 1945!
